I did my fashion studies at
Dubai
Knowledge
Village.
What inspired you to get into fashion
design?
My mother was a fashion designer, Farrah Gillani, so I’ve
grown up with such atmosphere where I used to see her famous clients like Noor
Jehan and other singers and actresses and used to love it.
What skills do you need to be a fashion
designer?
To have great fashion sense.
What has been the greatest challenge in your career so far?
To work with Maduri Dixt, which I still need to fulfill.

It could be anything from Spring, waterfalls, history,
birds, to high street fashion, etc.

of clothing?
No

sewing skills is important in fashion design?
No, not really.
What are you working on now?
Working on my latest Intoxicated Collection.
What kind of colors and cuts in designs
do you see taking centre-stage this winter season in
Pakistan?
Well you will see lots of Eastern and Western compositions
in my designs. I work on Western cuts while the embellishments are pretty
Eastern so I have a lot of fusion in my designs.
If you could do anything else, what would it be?
Acting or hosting, which I’m already doing on the sideline.
If you had a chance to work with any
designer in the world who would it be and why?
Peter Hermes. I simply love the brand.

international scale, so let’s keep our fingers crossed.
What was it like
participating and your work being appreciated so much in
Sarajevo
Fashion Week in
Bosnia?
It feels great especially when you are working for the
softer image of
Pakistan.
This was your 3rd
time at
Sarajevo
Fashion Week, what was the inspiration of your clothes this time around?
I showcased my latest Intoxicated winter line and I was so
happy this time because I sold half of the pieces. Also, I loved the satisfaction
of having sold internationally where people don’t have much Asian fashion sense. Yes, It was my third time and I would
love to thank Mr. Jouher Saleem who invited me for the 3rd time. I
would love to go there again and again!!
Your designs were
extremely popular this year and sold out instantly. Why do you think the people
love your clothes so much?
Well this time I really worked hard and wanted to give the
best show, which I actually managed to give. My clothes were a fusion, like I
said earlier I love designing on both compositions Eastern and Western, so this
time I hit it successfully.
.
What other fashion weeks worldwide have you showed at?
None so far but I have showcased my collection in
London as well at the
Vision Events International’s Fashion Gala.
How would you compare Pakistani fashion scene with international
fashion scene?
They are highly professional, while we waste most of the
time in leg-pulling and backbiting.

designer?
Have faith in yourself and in
God which is a simple key to success.
